Life, Reduced to a List
Sometimes I think about what I want and realised I just wanted to leave it all behind and run.
A loving husband. A cute rescue dog. A decent family. A job I am good at and pays fairly well. A home I am slated to pay off in the next 5 years (with or without a job). A support network.
Each line item represents responsibilities, expectations and burden that occasionally outweighs what they are worth in comfort. It really depends on the state of my mind when I am making that calculation.
Each line item has at one point or many left me unable to breathe, crying, and sleepless.
Each line item needed me to don on a version of me that is functional and reliable.
I wonder what would happen if I choose to give them all up one day.
